While I do think she was the last real man who occupied the role of PM, I don't believe she was the greatest PM. You belittle the nodding dog with this; "Oh Yes".

I was brought up to respect my elders. I don't respect many people nowadays.

WC was the right man for the right time, but the record books show that she was THE ONLY leader who NEVER lost a vote. And she was in power longer than Churchill.

With great sadness I have to let you know that the Greatest Prime Minister this country has ever had has died. RIP Margaret Thatcher. She served this country well and I am deeply saddened.

I will say that she succeeded in dividing opinion more than any major western political figure since FDR and that she exceeded both the expectations of many and the authority of her office to a shocking degree. The rest I'll leave to history and the inummerable biased retrospectives that will now be unleashed by all sides of the media, except to say that it is surely going to be a good day or two to bury bad news.

Better her than the Trots who lied and cheated, who opened our borders and who taxed us to death in order to create a benefit society filled with undereducated children with no hope of a future. Still, that is socialists for you, spend all of your money and have nothing to show for it.

She was quite a character and unlike the recent incumbents you took her as you found her and political correctness was not something she exhibited. A couple of friends of ours from up north hated her with a passion and said it was she alone who was instrumental in breaking up the close bonds of British society. I don't know for sure either way as I was in Jo'burg during her reign of terror! :-D Personally, I quite liked her. She called a spade a spade and I got the impression you knew exactly what she thought. She did a lot of good things which is how I'll remember her.

Not all Northerners hated her - Jimmy Savile was a big friend.

Apart from the fact that she worked tirelessly for this country, and went to Europe with the intent of not taking crap from the Unelected Dictatorship, she was a great role model for women She got to the top of a male orientated institution, garnered fear and respect and did so without shaking her booty. Nevermind Madonna or Beyonce, she was way more powerful and never got her tits out. She will be remembered far longer than the likes of Gordon Broon, John Major or Alex Douglas Hume. She changed this country by applying intelligence and common sense.
