Today for lunch, I and several co-workers decided to change it up a little bit and eat something we hadn't tried. We went to a Peruvian restaurant that happens to be fairly close to the office. (I think it might be the only one in or near the city of Cincinnati.) I discovered one thing while there: I love Peruvian food. I had Aji de Gallina[^] (#5), which as it turns out is one of the main Peruvian dishes. One of my coworkers had a sort of seafood bisque/chowder that had shrimp, potato, and corn in it. It looked delicious, and he confirmed it. Has anyone had Peruvian food? What other dishes would you recommend? Has anyone else tried any other foreign (or foreign to you) cuisine recently?

Can't say I've eaten a lot of Peruvian (or even central and south American) cooking recently. I like ceviche; easy to prepare at home; I've had "Aji de Gallina" which was good. As for ethnic cuisine, I usually go for the big 4 asians : japanese, thai, chinese and vietnamese. I eat "european" type cuisine every day...

I haven't had Peruvian, only Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Italian and American. Although usually I only have any of those when my wife comes visit, all the other time I cook, so its Mexican food 7 days a week ;P

Sabor Peruano. It's in Fairfield on Route 4 just outside the 275 loop.

About once every 2 - 3 months, for about 2 weeks at a time, she's back in our hometown in Mexico while I'm here in the US for work reasons, she's a professor so she gets way more vacation than I do. Hopefully in September we will be in the same country at least (I'm moving back)

If you like real mexican you should try Taqueria Maya close to kings auto mall or bakersfield in downtown in Vine street Over the Rhine. those are my favourite with real mexican tacos. Taqueria Maya is not very fancy, no much decoration and a small place but food is the real deal and not to pricey. Bakersfield is more high end but tacos are authentic too.
