Since I can't reply to the thread Chris posted, I'll post this here. The winners to the first challenge in the Azure Challenge have been announced. Congratulations to them! Looks like winning any of the bigger prizes is going to be harder than I thought. Oh well, back to the grindstone for me. I'd steal some ideas from the winners of the first challenge, but I don't think I'm going to be getting much sleep as it is. EDIT: Also, kudos to the hamsters for getting those winners out so quickly. Judging 100+ entries can't be easy.

Oh I dunno. From the look of most of 'em as they passed through the moderation queue, the problem was getting the number of acceptable entries up to 100. There was an awful lot of total garbage in there! BTW: This is not to denigrate or in any way belittle your entry - since it didn't require moderation it couldn't be included in that statement!

Sorry - it wasn't meant as an insult to you, just a comment on the quality of the entries I had seen. Almost certainly, all the good entries bypassed moderation, so the only ones left would be 99% drivel. I mean, some of them were two sentences! (And the first sentence was "I wanna do a program 2 do this." It was very hard to press the "approve" button on some of them...)

i've read a lot of articles from this contest on my tablet during my way to and from the office, and some of them didn't even meet the requirement of writing two sentences about azure and the benefits of it. I will never understand this :/

From Chris' post, it looks like you missed a vision (as the 97 others, mind you) ;P . Or your vision was too short-sighted (actually they may be some opportunities for you in my company higher management  ). Maybe rename your contribution from "Umbraco on Azure" to "Ummm bacon on Azure", and I am sure you'll get a prize, be it an honorific one. :-D
