Unicode skywriter[^] Now, I want to know how many of you understand this, and why it is funny! I guess you need to know a reasonable amount about how things work...
The universe is composed of electrons, neutrons, protons and......morons. (ThePhantomUpvoter)

Planes need a minimum horizontal air velocity at their wings to stay afloat, tight turns and vertical flight are especially problematic. Does that help? Oh, and for the unicode n00bs: Interrobang[^]: Hello‽ Unicode has diacritics (hats and dashes for letters, e.g. ° ^ ` `) in two versions: as combining characters which are drawn on top of the previous character in the string, and precomposed, e.g. Å and ö. (So yes, Å can either be one "char" in the string, or two.) Oh, and there's always explainxkcd[^]

As I read it, the gist is that the skywriter got confused about what characters to write, and in doing so lost control of the plane. Bit too obscure in my opinion...
Not quite: it was the diacritics that did for him! Mind you, he was probably busy googling to find out what an interrobang was anyway... (It's a combination of question and exclamation marks as a single character - and a waste of character space IMHO)

The interrobang is my favorite punctuation mark! A shame my keyboard doesn't have a key for it.
