    ORPALIS is now certified as Young Innovative Company by the French Ministry of Research thanks to its groundbreaking techniques in the field of document imaging. Muret, France, May 10. Each year, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche, MESR) delivers a certification and a grant to companies dedicating a significant part of their activity to scientific work. In April 2013 ORPALIS is officially recognized as Young Innovative Company (Jeune Entreprise Innovante, JEI). There are 5 conditions to be eligible as Young Innovative Company http://www.enseignementsup-recherche.gouv.fr/cid5738/la-jeune-entreprise-innovante-j.e.i.html - be a Small or Medium Company (Petite et Moyenne Entreprise, PME) - be less than 8 years old - have a consequent budget allocated yearly for research work - be independent - be truly innovative in scientific and technical aspects with patent pending projects. In 2009, 2373 French companies have beneficiated of this status, which was created in 2004. ORPALIS is based in the South-West of France, in the small town of Muret, near Toulouse. Toulouse is famous for being the center of the European aerospace industry and hosting world leading IT companies. In this favorable environment Loïc Carrère created a company which became in a very short time a reference in the document imaging and image processing domains.
