What I want to know is whether the seller actually sells any rabbits? How do I find that information? Where I live, I can shoot 50 - 100 free range rabbits a day and never make a dent in the population. That's got to be worth more than cage-raised bunnies, and I could easily undersell the offeror and still make a huge profit. Do people want to eat bunnies? Enough of them to make it worth my time to shoot a bunch of them? I've eaten rabbit a number of times, and it's quite tasty, but I can't imagine spending $50 a coney for one. George is right; the taste isn't all that different from chicken, though it is a bit more flavorful and sweet. I can offer unlimited cottontails, at about 1-1/2 to 3 lbs each, and nearly as many jackrabbits at 5 - 6 lbs, though they're more rare and far more difficult to shoot. Jacks are actually rather wily, compared to their smaller cousins.

I like wabbit, when I was a kid working on a sheep station we would park ourselves on the crest of a hill overlooking a valley where there were a number of burrows, using an on WW2 303 we would happily blast away at them. If on the odd occasion when we actually managed to hid something other than the valley there was never a lot left of said wabbit. If we wanted a feed we would take up a little Bruno .22, very tasty was wabbit.
