They've called in the COBRA committee, so it seems that it's not just a really nasty killing, but terrorism instead. The picture they showed on the BBC news seemed to be the victim, plus the two attackers on the ground being arrested. So either the hung around after killing him, or the armed police were right there (or very close) when it happened.

:omg: No motive? Didn't like the way he looked? Brutal.

Just speculation; the victim was wearing a shirt for a disabled veterans charity, was a soldier himself.

Seems like attackers wanted to be caught. One report said the attacker asked witnesses to photograph him, they also attacked police when confronted instead of fleeing.

Sounds like the usual motive: read the article here: 'Soldier beheaded' in 'Islamist terror attack' outside London barracks[^]. Need anything more be said?

There's something they're not telling us, you wouldn't normally convene COBRA for a murder, however public and outrageous it is.

Sadly yes... :(( And something should be done. I'm sure that the perpetrators had squeaky clean records, no red flags in their background. (Speculation).

Gathering the COBRA committee does seem to be a massive overreaction for a single murder, albeit very brutal. My guess is they convened before they had the facts. The big worry is that similarly minded nut-jobs are going to see the reaction and make the connection that small-scale attacks like this are going to be worth it.

and once they see that, and act... This doesn't bear thinking about. Not sure what can be done though, to ensure this can't happen again which, I suppose, is the point that scum were trying to make. Religion of peace? What a joke.

Saw that all over the news today... that's horrible and cold blooded. I don't even understand how people could be that cold blooded.
