I've been using TortoiseSVN for several years and like it, there have been minor annoyances but overall nice product.

Tortoise is good, it occasionally (I mean like twice in two years) gets huge tree conflict confusion but I think that's SVN's fault not their particular implementation. I used Trac on my first project, two and a half years ago. It seemed decent, probably a bit less feature-rich than JIRA which we use at most places, but certainly well enough for basics.

I use TortoiseSVN/BugNet at home. I use TortoiseHG/OnTime at work. TortoiseHG is better than the SVN version in my opinion, but both are very useable. BugNet is super basic but helps me keep track of stuff. OnTime is a flaming turd covered in diesel fuel.

I use tortoise svn. If there are any negatives at all to it, i would say that it makes the user gui dependent. Other then that its a solid product and hasn't failed me yet.

We've been using TortoiseSVN for 8 years now, and have not seen issue except maybe when merging long forgotten branches; if you want to work no different branches, merging back and forth might be problematic.

I use both (although not so much with trac since viewcvs is enough for me). I have setup a trac and svn/cvs server on my home linux based HTPC / lxc container server since its far easier to not have to deal with the network security. I think I have had this up since 2007 with very few hours of downtime..

TortiseSVN. Love it.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt

Tortoise, but consider that it has a little steep learning curve. Especially if you plan to handle big projects and lot of merging. Also the default comparison screen is a little crappy.

Been using TortoiseSVN for a long time already. It does its work properly! Its revision graph tool is not so good though; mostly because of the lack of visualization of merge operations. To compensate for this I use SVNMapper: http://svnmapper.tigris.org/[^]
