I have been asked to arrange the meeting up to celebrate the 10 million members at the end of June. It will be in Newcastle or Durham depending on the preferences of attendees. It shall be a refined evening of debauchery, as befitting our happy community. Sign up below to indicate your willingness to attend, and location preference. We will arrange the date once we have numbers.

I was brought up to respect my elders. I don't respect many people nowadays.

I will certainly try to attend health and finances permitting. Obviously the closer to Nottingham the better for me, Edinburgh is also good.

Well, if you can't hold it somewhere civilized... Seriously, though, travelling that far north would take a day each way on our "wonderful" public transport system. Much as I love debauchery, that's a long way to go for an evening.

It would be great to do it, but a near 500 mile round trip to Newcastle and back for one evening. I would be more up for it if we could do somewhere in Yorkshire as it is less of a journey for me

Based on the responses you got, it seems it's easier to organize these things in the UK than over here (more spread out)!

Obviously, I'd be up for it, but given the responses is doesn't look likely, at least not in the area.

Indeed. There may be some things I can do here, but the first part is that there's definitely going to be one in our area. That's a given. I may organise another one as well (CP approached me as one of their official organisers after all, so I get to pick where we go :)).

That sounds like in might be in Hungary. :)

Mrs Wife's mum lives in a town called Kiskunfelegyhaza - KISH_KUN_FEL_EDGE_HA_ZA - bloody awful name. I am currently residing in sunny [not] Surrey, the most apologetic place on earth.

If you manage to get all 10 million members there, I'll pay for the drinks. Might have to sell the yacht to do it mind. At the risk of sounding like a poncy southerner - wouldn't London be the obvious venue?

                                      Regards, Rob Philpott.

Nope. Not if a none-poncy Northerner's organising it. And why would London be more appropriate than, say, Birmingham - which is geographically a lot more central?

Geographically, certainly. But bearing in mind there's going to be about the same number of developers in London as the rest of the country if you want people to turn up it'd be a better choice.
