    Try this one[^]: e-π/2 = ii

Busy site that one. "That means ii is real!"

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.-John Q. Adams
You must accept one of two basic premises: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not alone in the universe. And either way, the implications are staggering.-Wernher von Braun

This must be too far over my head for me to understand. http://functionspace.org/articles/6/Understanding-the-most-beautiful-equation-in-Mathematics[Understanding the most beautiful equation in Mathematics] My head was swimming after reading through the whole article and then it came down to:

      Quote:

      If we put, x=π , we get: eiπ = −1 as cosπ = −1 and sinπ = 0 or eiπ + 1 = 0

      Ahhh, ok... but doesn't all that just mean: -1 + 1 = 0 ??? :wtf:

Then you did not understand the beauty of it. :|

Very bad English; it should be: That means ii am real! This just goes to show mathematicians can't do no good English.

Poor grammar yourself. Double negative means they can! Joke's on you!

Teacher: David, give me a sentence starting with "I." David: I is... Teacher: No, David. You must always say "I am." David: Oh right. I am the ninth letter of the alphabet.

The awesome thing about this equation is that three apparently unrelated constants, from entirely different areas of mathematics (calculus, geometry and complex numbers), can be related in such an elegant and simple way.

And the fact that eiπ = -1 seems somehow significant, almost metaphysical...

Yes, of course it is mysterious, metaphysical and non-trivial, yet very true. Therein lies its beauty.

I assume you are not familiar with the concept of a deliberate parody used as a mechanism for humour?

By that measure e=mc2 comes down to "the bigger something is the more eneregy it has" 'cause c is a constant, so therefore is csquared. So Sally it's just e is proportional to m No biggie
