CodeProject 10 million members meetup - Central Ohio
-
I am trying to see if there are enough CPians in Central Ohio (or nearby cities) to do a meetup in or around Columbus this month. If we do have one, it will be officially backed by CodeProject. Gary, I know you are in Dayton. I assume there must be a few CPians in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Akron, Toledo etc. A tentative idea is to meet for food/beer and discuss technology, maybe have 2-3 mini tech sessions. If you guys are interested, please reply back to this thread. Thanks.
You can either reply there or here. Thanks.
Regards, Nish

I'm in Cincinnati and could definitely make the drive up to Columbus.
The United States invariably does the right thing, after having exhausted every other alternative. -Winston Churchill America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. -Oscar Wilde Wow, even the French showed a little more spine than that before they got their sh*t pushed in.[^] -Colin Mullikin

I'm in Brunswick, ca. two hours north, but we have family and friends in the area. Definitely a possibility for me as long as my schedule works with it.

Yeah, I am waiting to hear from Sean. I believe he's going to be sending me some CodeProject goodies to distribute at the meetup. I also intend to get back to each person who responded to help decide on a date. Once the date's decided I might use a site like eVite so people can RSVP for the event.

That's great Nish, good to hear. There's a Facebook event [^] that we've set up to help get the word out and include links to the different events. A few of the other meetups have used http://www.eventbrite.com/[^] to set up their event RSVPs, that might be one to look at as well.

Thanks, I'll look at that. Once our date's decided, I can hopefully count on you to give us some Facebook love? I don't use Facebook myself though.

Ok, I'll put my reply here as well. This is probably the thread I'll be watching. If enough people are going to show, I would be willing to make the drive.
If it moves, compile it
Would you be okay with doing it on a Wednesday evening? Or do you prefer the weekend? I am asking everyone who replied so we can decide on a date/venue.

My schedule is pretty booked for the next 1.5 months. I won't be able to attend.
If it moves, compile it
Oh well. Some other time I guess. Thanks.

Also, would your dad be interested? (he used to be fairly active here until some years back)

A Wednesday evening would work for me, but it definitely wouldn't work for my Dad. I'm not sure if he would come anyways, since he's in Illinois, south of Chicago.

Cool, thanks Colin. I am thinking of picking a date and then posting an eVite page somewhere where people can RSVP. I am leaning towards Wednesday evening too.
