Don't Apologize. It's a sign of weakness. Who said it first? No, don't think NCIS. I said MOVIE. In any case Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a mediocre characterization off a *real man* as played by him that spoke it first in this 1949 classic. If you absolutely cannot wait to see the kind of man our society produced and glorified in the movies before the thought police and other PC forces started to control the way we think, click here: Answer Ah yes, them wuz the days when men were men and gals were gals - A darn good arrangement.

If you can't be bothered to come up with your own, original, ideas then you have to at least improve significantly on the current version. Just ask Microsoft about Win8 takeup...

You know, there are some rules around the Lounge. In addition to the Boss' rules (sticky post up there on the first page) there are some community defined rules: CR#1 The MQOTD was, is and will forever be made by V. - Once a day. CR#2 The CCCC is made by Daleks - Dave to be exact - exactly once a day. CR#3 Many many have tried to create somethin like V. and DD - But they failed, and we haven't seen most of them since then (probably eaten up by a wild hamster). CR#4 Mick Martin is allowed to swear (and so are DD and Nagy, if drunk). CR#5 No reposts - We know that Leslie Nielsen and Miss Thatcher are dead. My additional Protip to you: Do not violate any of these rules, people in here love to nuke newbies and grill 'em afterwards. cheers, Marco

It won't happen again. I did not realize that MQOTD was "copyrighted" by the original user through some unwritten forum protocol!

Doesn't that apply to life in general? The only sure way to avoid mistakes is never to try anything - but that would be the biggest mistake of all. So we're screwed. Heh, that's exactly what I was thinking. It is interesting how we seem to learn much more from our mistakes than our successes. Probably explains why we keep screwing up everything. I wonder what an alien planet would be like that learned instead from successes, hardly ever making mistakes! Would that even be possible?

I think there's a lot of wisdom in us older folks, but one of the wisest things we can learn is how to say things so that the youngin's will actually listen. And welcome aboard, BTW. Marc

Ahem. CCC, not CCCC, and it's not exactly once a day, it's sometime's (but never more than) once a day.

Marc

That does not apply to all of us, sadly.
