Actually, it was a front page link on msn.com when I looked yesterday. A sad event for any country to experience, friendly or not to the US. It is no less a tragedy for their family and friends than it would be here... The article had few details - any word yet on what happened? It is ok for women not to like sports, so long as they nod in the right places and bring beers at the right times.

Unfortunately in most cases your scenario fits. :( But we in Germany have one news-'show' that doesn't use optical means to catch viewers. It's broadcasted every day at 8pm, lasts only 15 minutes and has one of the highest ratings of the day. And that's an exception. All the other new shows bank on the stuff you mentioned. That'd be really nice, but in the nearer future there'll ever be differences between what nation the news belongs to.

Not everyone wants democracy. This is a fatal mistake that us westerners often make. We think our way is the best and that it is inconcievable that others would object to our way of life. Of course Afghanis want to be liberated! Look how much better off they are now. Go liberation! And also even if everyone did want democracy forming a rule of law that would cater for every single culture on Earth is near impossible. Hindus have very different requirements to say Mormoms.
