We had record rainfall yesterday (125mm in 1 hr) and so there's a bit of cleanup happening around our building. I'm staring, captivated, unable to turn away, as a small digger meticulously, painfully, and disturbingly without any entertainment value at all, works its way across the sodden grass by laying down a piece of marine ply, rolling onto it, turning around and picking up the piece it just rolled off, and picking that piece up and laying it in front of its path. Piece by piece. Turn by turn. Nudge by nudge to ensure they are aligned. I'm hyptnotised. This isn't normal, is it?

Most people drink to get distracted. As we know from MM that you don't really drink, you need to get your distractions elsewhere.

The key to avoiding distraction is quite simple. All you need to do is ... Hey look! A squirrel!

I've just spent 10 minutes reading about the problems of squirrels and windscreen wipers. Not sure how that happened.

I'd post a cutting and witty comeback but the digger is on the move again.

It doesn't matter what the number is, whenever I see millimeters following it I automatically think "small". It appears I got distracted from your post about distraction.

I find sitting on the beach distracts me terribly. Almost every day when we go to Csopak, our favourite beach, I'll be mid-conversation when one, or even better two or three, delight to the eyes totters by. In a [just about] bikini. I don't just forget the conversation but in some cases my name as well. It's hell I tell you, hell.

For Canadian entertainment? I'd say yes, decidedly yes, in fact.
