I need to buy some ecommerce software. I want to own it, host it, edit it etc. I do not want to pay monthly fees, a one off purchase and then that's it. Candypress looks ok, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Never mind that, I need printer cartridges at low,low prices. Can you direct me to a site that'll sell me some? Have you considered something like these[^]?

Shopify is a subscription channel and not wanted, ditto Magneto. However... there are a couple of good options there. (osCommerce has issue relating to security, I have heard that it is 'unreliable') Thanks for the link.

Shopify is a subscription channel and not wanted, ditto Magneto. However... there are a couple of good options there. (osCommerce has issue relating to security, I have heard that it is 'unreliable') Thanks for the link.

More than you would know. Some of these scam merchants lure you in with cheap options like £9.99 a month, but that is a limited time offer and after 6 months it rises to £14.99, but that is for a limited number of products. As soon as you cross the 100 product limit, the costs rise to £30 per month and so on. You could end up paying £1000's a year. I have >147,000 products in my range! It would not be worth me being in business at those prices.

I was very satisfied with joomla + virtuemart. Very powerful and short learning curve.
