Looks like we may tip over to 10 million registered members this weekend. As I will be at a cottage, I will raise a glass at various points over the weekend to toast whomever it is that brings us up to 10 digits.

Now I wish I had a bunch of sock-puppet accounts so I could start closing a lot of accounts and roll back the dial. Then I wouldn't have to hear about this anymore. :) I think 90%+ of users probably signed up to ask a single question and then never came back. I know, Debbie Downer. :)

Not 90% I think - a lot of them sign up to download the code from articles.

Wouldn't that just delay the inevitable, and prolong the discussion?

That could be. But my pessimisstic side still says 90%+ are one-time users (maybe twice.)

That doesn't work. Look for the other Michael Martin. I was here first by a large margin but have formatting in my username and Code Project doesn't take that in to account when checking if an account exists already. So one day I'll find your super secret account and make another with some formatting in it and go on a posting spree.

You didn't or the other Michael Martin account wouldn't exist. Must have added this well after the fact. I only know of this when I went to change something years ago and it complained that my account existed already.

Obviously I waited until after the fact otherwise you wouldn't have anything to whinge about. Speaking of whinging, are you still based on Cambra? I'm trying to work it so that I can get over there sometime around Christmas. It's a long shot, but I hear the soy lattes in Kingston still make the trip worth while, and I know you're a bandit for them.

Today marks a year to the day that the clients new IT Manager asked for me to not come back after I had left for my drive back to Sydney. The contract only had another 8 weeks to go. Next Saturday marks a year to the day that I was retrenched as magically my company had no position for me to go to, even though they knew the contract was finishing. So you will have to organise something up Sydney way.
