Media file renamer/organiser
-
I've recently been trying out XBMC on my home theatre PC, while XBMC is great it is absolutely terrible at grabbing info about films and tv shows from the internet, for example, I added some "Game of Thrones" episodes to it, only for it to rename it "God's Quiz", even though I had created a good file structure of the show name, season number, episode name etc :| (The XBMC recommended structure, I might add) I also had some Star Trek DS9 files that it added to the library as "Original series" despite them being in a damn folder called "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" What I'm looking for is a program that you can give a list of folders to, and it automagically renames the folders and file names according to the info from the internet (eg, TVDB, IMDB). In a format that actually works with XBMC's library manager thingey. I've tried a couple of programs, one being "TV Renamer", which renamed my files for me and even downloaded artwork, only for XMBC to then change it to "God's Quiz". Anyone know of anything at all like this?

There seems to be a list of supplemental tools on the XBMC wiki page[^]. I have installed Raspbmc on my Pi a while ago, I'd be very interested in a feedback of how you have solved the problem. cheers, Tony

That's what I'm using too, with a large external hard drive as a place to store all the files. I'll look into that link, thanks.

I'll look into that link, thanks.Lloyd, have a look at OPENElec[^], it's an embedded setup of XBMC. Seems to be setup for accessing network shares rather than directly attached storage, though this may only be an issue of mine to find the right setting to get to USB HDD's. Then look at the Universal Scraper Add-on as seen here[^] and here[^]. It should work with RaspBMC as well. Seems to work a treat for the people I know that use it.

I was getting this, too. "God's Quiz" is some Korean CSI show. Google brought me here. I think the problem is that the folder name is "Season 1". I moved the files out of that directory, and then the library got the right show. Hope this helps someone.
