No I don't have a Hero 3 Black (Only got Hero 2's), but I think they have doubled the performance so now it can do 1080p @ 60fps. Are you buying or have bought? If you are buying, do it. You wont regret it! http://gopro.com/product-comparison-hero3-cameras[^] Have a look at DevinSupertramp videos on YouTube, he uses gopros a lot! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwgURKfUA7e0Z7_qE3TvBFQ[^]

I have not purchased one. Still a day dream though, I really want one for a dashcam, it will probably save me money in the long run. I was trying to determine if the 60fps is nice enough high speed to warrant the hero3's over a hero2. From some user's youtubes, the slowmo looks okay, but not what I was expecting.

What do you want to use it for? There are different interpretations of Dash Cam. Do you mean for insurance purposes? If so, that is totally overkill. If you want one for insurance purposes then you would be better to go for a proper dash cam with built in speed and acceleration sensors etc.

Thinking of springing myself for the TOL but am inclined to hold off until the GoPro manufacturers come out with their nightvision version. You heard it here.

Well, I want a dashcam for liability purposes, and also to identify hit and run flee-ers, etc. I was thinking I could kill 2 birds with one stone with a gopro (I was thinking about getting a gopro for other uses, too, in particular slo mo video). I don't really need black box censors, just images would suffice. For a dashcam under $200, do you have any suggestions?

By "that" refering to the "night vision" ... probably never. By "that" refering to my springing ... sooner than later, preferably.
