I need to connect a SAS HDD to a SATA connector from my PC board. Will it be seen from to board's bios?

Not sure - it's a different physical connector, slightly, and the signalling voltages are a little higher on SAS than SATA, so you may have problems actually connecting it. (A SAS connector is normally one connector, while SATA is normally two, with a physical protrusion to prevent users plugging it upside down) The big question is: does your motherboard BIOS support SAS?

I didn't tried yet. I intend to. But I have to buy an adapter. The problem is that I don't know if the SAS drive is seen by the BIOS, and after that if a Win XP will see it. I need to have low level access to the SAS drive. I want to run SECURE ERASE on it. http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/people/Hughes/secure-erase.html[^]
