Kim Jong-il's grandson to study at French university Al-Assad in Western Eye Hospital[^] King Abdullah attended St Edmund's School, Hindhead Kim Jung Un attended the private English-language "International School" in Gümligen And so forth... They all have local culture which they admire and cultivate. But they send their heirs to be educated outdoors. Is that de facto an admission that their education system is ineligible? or a way to "know the enemy" in a preperation for later stages in their rule?

When you answer that you will know why aristocrats send their heirs away for school.

Well, one could argue that they do not have an education system, and do not want an education system. An uneducated population is easier to hold under a dictatorial system.

        I'd rather be phishing!

Who told you that? Your teachers? Of course a school system will teach that. Follow the money, my friend, follow the money.

That'd be a "non sequitur". It's always more advisable to do an education abroad - you already grew up with your local culture and habits, and it's a valuable addition to one's education to look at things from another culture's perspective.

I've always heard it from folks who are complaining about the gov't being involved in the education system. In the US, the teachers union is very involved with politics, so I doubt it came from a teacher (at least not one who gets along with the union).

And you base that on what exactly? Their public persona?

Or because their parents wanted their child to get a better education.
