Did they ask you things about your financing and your office arrangements?

No to both. Good thing because My office is a spare bedroom. :)

Has anyone here been a member of Microsoft's BizSpark[^] program? Do you know anyone who has been a member? Do you think they would consider a one-man show to join the program?

I attempted to get in but was totally unprepared and rightly rejected, you are doing the right thing getting as much preparation as possible. Make it easy for them to approve you, have all your info ready before starting.

Oh you know, the usual thing a normal business requires. A business plan, a details product definition, a development plan or at least an architectural statement etc. I had none of these as I was only looking at it as a vehicle to get some free/low priced software. At least they were not rude about it :-O

Does anyone know if they require you to be a certain type of company? There are many different forms available. The simplest would be a trade license, but I don't know if that's even considered a company in the legal sense.

I was a member until it expired sometime ago. I did not need a business plan or financial statement, all I had to do was send them a link to my website where I was selling some windows apps. It was great - I got Visual Studio 2010 ultimate, windows 7 ultimate etc plus lots of other stuff like an msdn subscription.

I'm a Bizpark member and yes, my company is a one man show, as far as I remember I was able to subscribe all by myself, they recommend you to subscribe through a Bizpark Partner but it's not a must. I believe that mostly, it have to do with what you plan to do, for example, I subscribed when Windows 8 was hot-new, and I focused on Windows 8 development so they approved me quickly and hassle free.

CEO at: - Rafaga Systems - Para Facturas - Modern Components for the moment...

Yes, me, and I'm a "one man show." You can see my BizSpark logo at the bottom of my site: www.awardwinnersonly.com IIRC, you have to submit somebody as a sort of "sponsor," someone who will vouch for you as being worthy of becoming "BizSparkerized."
