After reading this, the question came to my mind. So what would be the next challenging problem to be resolved?

Mutually exclusive. We need more wars to relieve the burden on natural resources. Crucially though they need to be wars fought by lots and lots of men with pointy sticks rather than small groups of geeks with remote controls.

            1. Zero-point energy and how to access it. 2) Deciding how many Higgs there actually are (probably related to (1) above) 3) Understanding women for men (unlikely) / Understanding men for women (even less likely)

The man who has contributed most to the world we now live in was Genghis Khan, he killed so many people that vast areas of land previously cleared by those that lived on them returned to being Forest and created a huge new carbon sink. He personally created a period of global cooling. Imagine how overpopulated and warm the planet would be now if he hadn't laid all that groundwork many years ago. ;P

Absolutely, I don't mind them having the shiniest armour and sitting on a big horse as long as they're at the front leading the way.

1 and 2 are far, far more likely than 3 - understanding women (fullstop) (and hence I will remain evermore single)

So you think that we need some sort of Brave New World style method of producing children in labs before being decanted, then compulsory homosexuality for the adult population?

Problem 1: How to deal with all the sand one of our wells produces. Problem 2: getting through the next 8 days without any major hiccups before I go home... Think will skip 1 and just concentrate on 2. :-D

I think it's to do with information overload. People these days grave information all the time, I think I'm easily one of those people. You'll notice how people are constantly checking their phone for updates (social media, news ) or information, while driving, working, walking or talking people want that extra source of info. I've recently read a lot about this, that people need time to think, to digest all of the informaiton, so I try setting a bit of quite time each day, no devices, no people just sit and think for 30 min.
