Yes that has become like status symbol !! Like people mostly blurt things in parties "I am working out" or "I am on diet !" If you want to be called yourself a techie, geek etc. you must must bash MS for every silly thing you can find. I replied to couple of OP lately. And as I said, its mostly developer/user's ignorance rather than issue.

Just had a tour of a local Primary school that we're looking at sending my boy to and each class had a crate of iPads. That's somewhere in the region of £15K per class (or £375k for the whole school), surely there are cheaper alternatives than that?
I don't know whether you are old/alive enough to remember what things were like back then, but could you imagine how quickly MS would have been criticised (or even sued) for anti-competitive practices in the 90s if they supplied machines to schools like that. Hell, they couldn't even supply you with their own browser by default, in a way that looks open-source when compared to Apple's App Store.

Oh I'm more that old enough to remember how MS would have been crucified if they employed such practices. But hell this is the age of Apple and because they are perceived to be cool they can do no wrong. But Steve Jobs is dead and the company is on the slide, I remember how apple was in the mid-nineties without Jobs at the helm....

iOS7 is Metro with Aero. I love the concept but the execution has missed the mark by *this* much. Actually by that much. iTunes has been overly complicated, the Calendar overly "simplified" so that it's hard to actually see your schedule. Way, way too much bright, white space which means staring at your alarm at 5:30AM trying to turn it off is like having needles drilled into you. Soften it a little, guys? And the catch-me-if-you-can controls on Safari means lots of accidental clicking on ads while trying just to get the hell off a website.

Far as I know it is difficult if not impossible to be a "reviewer" without having a bias. Certainly that is something that I have seen numerous times about movie reviewers. Certainly if someone is reviewing colors then is nothing but a subjective determination. And it certainly seems to me that a significant number of people are more interested in the emotional aspects of their phone versus the technical side. After all why is there a market for different color cases and things to stick on the phone. Given that a subjective review is to be expected.

Well MS don't make machines so it would have been a bit strange., And in Aus at least MS partners very closely with schools and universities, providing cheap licenses and free software and other help.
