The Courts
-
Outside every court house in the USA there is a man detector. If you enter the court house as a man an alarm sounds. You might as well unfasten your belt because you'll be over a barrel shortly, squealing like a piggy. I know a man who has just been ordered to pay more in alimony and child support than he makes. This is after he was kicked out of his house with little more than a suit case of clothing. You read that right - he has to pay more than he makes. His lawyer told him to take out a loan. I'm not sure what the court thinks he'll live on or how he's supposed to buy gas to get to work. I guess the court cannot be bothered with that nonsense.

A one-sided story. Let me guess, the alimony was determined when the man was still wealthy, and he decided to quit his job to avoid paying alimony? :)

It gets worse... if he doesn't pay, and she sues for the child support, he'll go to jail even though there is no debtor's prison in the USSA.

Although this case is a little extreme it is common for the male to get the shot end of the stick. I went through a very bitter divorce and was ordered to pay a large sum of money to my ex, that's why I quit programming computers for many years! Let me clear up a few things so y'all don't think I'm a deadbeat dad; I helped raise my son and he never wanted for anything even though I never paid my ex any child support. I live with him and his wife now so that I can remodel the house they just bought.

This is after he was kicked out of his house with little more than a suit case of clothing.I've seen the same thing. The guy in question had the same job for 10 years, so there was a clear record of income. Court still awarded more then he made, even seen his pay checks that are negative (union dues still come out no matter what) or for just a couple of bucks.
Common sense is admitting there is cause and effect and that you can exert some control over what you understand.

... He doesn't earn much money, only 5,000 per Some judge who thinks he's funny says "You pay 6 to her" Now he says "Judge? Suppose I fail?" The judge says "Budge right into jail. You better keep her. I think it's cheaper than making whoopie."
