Car break-ins hacks?
-
So, it seems like in my neighborhood, there's been quite a few car break-ins where they don't damage anything but somehow getting into the cars anyway. Some people are theorizing it's key fob hacks that are spreading throughout the country (I'll have to look for the news video) and apparently police aren't sure how they're doing it. Anyone else experiencing weird car break-ins in their area?

No, we specialise in "weird car break-downs" round here... But you could be right: http://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/view/32862/car-thieves-found-using-handheld-fobs-to-hack-automatic-car-locks-/[^] if they are "modern" cars with WFI enabled, you can hack into some of them with an android phone apparently...which would worry me if I lived (or just regularly drove through) a rough area. :~ If you can hack a car to start it, can you stop it when you want as well? I'd have thought so...
The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger. English doesn't borrow from other languages. English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

I can't say. Didn't see the car since the break-in... :-D
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is (V).

A bit like this? Hackers take control of a Prius[^] Still not sure why they'd want to take control of such a car though.

Yeah, I live in the middle of a large city... so rough areas are all around. :sigh:

To wipe the smug I-don't-care-about-the-hidden-carbon-cost-I'm-green look off the owners face?
