I'm calling fake. The grass is still green, the table and chairs are out, no snowblower in sight. It is obviously July in that pic. The video was from Lachine, Qc, Ca, which I think is your neck of the woods (I'm just east of Ottawa). I have seen wires dancing in the wind/rain/snow and arcing, but never the kind of flowing fire that these had. I have to wonder what was the cause, the fuel and the sustainment of the flashover. For that storm, we got lots of wind causing some brownouts, but nothing like this.

I'm in Australia where it's spring, warm, and sunny - but that was one heck of a stiff breeze!

Yeah, but you're a Pom that has chosen to live in Queensland where it will soon be 1950. I don't think the weather makes up for that.

We had a pretty good storm the other day, high winds, etc. But nothing like this video happened in our neck of the woods.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=34r6RGF2JLA[^] An electrical fireball traveling down overhead wires. Awesome....just awesome. Warning, there is a bit of foul language when it hits, but it is more out of surprise than anything... Ken
