I fully understand that this will be quite different between different countries, but that's also why a reason why I'm curious. Mine is "O Helga Natt[^]" (Oh Holy Night). Especially when sung by Jussi Björling. (Pavarotti can take a hike).

The anti-nowhere league might sum up my attitude to Christmas but since this is the lounge and I like pretty much anything by Bach I will go for: J.S. Bach - Christmas Oratorio BWV 248[^] (his Easter music[^] is much better by the way)

Most of what goes for culture in the UK nowadays is fairly poor. If, when Bulgarians start moving to the UK next year, they bring some of their culture I will be more than happy to welcome them. :)

Yeah, I'm afraid the most likely group to move will be ethnically not quite bulgarians. Not that there is anything wrong with that. edit: Besides, some of Them[^] apparently moved to Scotland long time ago :)

Hmm, there are so many, but you certainly know it's Christams when The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York.[^] comes on the radio. Or how about Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday[^] or even Slade - Merry Christmas Everyone[^] It is not really until you hear one on the radio or telly that they jump out and say that's a favourite!

I'm feeling some ambiguity in that sentence. Are you referring to the fact that they're not really Bulgarians, or that they might be moving? ;P

Nope, I meant that the most mobile and likely group to move in large numbers would be the Roma minority. They have different cultural traditions, not that there is anything wrong with that.

There are so many good Christmas songs but the best ones are the ones that the children are singing when the Santa comes to visit :) For the recorded ones, these bring special memories to me: - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJSUT8Inl14[^] - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wix14BuE09o[^]
