Hi All, Any recommendations for a printer (colour yes, wireless printing nice but not a deal breaker) for use once or twice a month (or less) usually to print-out instructions & the odd letter(?)/web pages. My Canon i250 that I was using with out problem refused as the waste ink absorbers are full, I am planning on taking it to bits and trying to clean them (purchase delayed until failure to complete) I have grabbed a pair of rubber gloves for the purpose. Now to search boob tube for a how to vid! :sigh:

You ink so ? ;P Although I'm a Canon fan for most things I steer away from Canon for printing. I have an HP printer/scanner/copier (with wifi stuff) and am very happy it. The previous HP I owned was also very good. The 2 Canon printers I had before were nothing but trouble. Our current HP was close to 100€ so nothing majorly expensive.

After having issues with ink printers (not working anymore if not used for 2-3 months in a row etc.) I resorted to a laser printer (from Samsung). Got one with scanner, wifi etc. all inclusive. The color quality may not be as good as with ink printers, however, I also don't have to wait for the paper to dry up ;P And it's a hell lot faster than those ink printers. Didn't regret it yet. They might be a bit (yeah, maybe a lot) more expensive than inkjets, but they are quite affordable compared to a few years past. :)

I agree with Griff; Epson do really good quality at a very low price. Our Epson DX3800 (probably superceded now) cost £50 eight years ago and is still going strong. You can buy cheaper ink cartridges at any of the UK online outlets (I use printerinks.com). It's not wifi but for only occasional printing that is far from being a necessity.

Brother Lasers are very good. You can pick up the printer for a reasonable price. The problem most people see is the toner looks expensive, but given the amount of prints available from it then it works out about the same as per an ink cartridge. The advantage is that it doesn't dry out like ink.

and you dont have to buy ink from dodgy ink dealers (called dave)

Also see HERE[^] It is a full colour wireless printer with NFC, so just pop your tablet down on it and print! Samsung are a good make too and this one is on special offer at PC World.

If you're willing to spend little bit more, buy any non-Brother colour laser. This puts you just outside of the "disposable" printer market. The printer costs more, but an HP is printer for life and toner is cheaper.
