I've just been ordered to create a start to finish timeline for a project that just went into beta testing. Miraculously, I'll be meeting all the deadlines on this project. No sweat.

Are you kidding? Every developer knows that when a product goes into Beta is when users start requesting (demanding) features and UI changes :)

Yes, well the timeline for the planning/development/testing of the application is now 3 days. I've left 18 months for beta testing. :-D

I'm going to put "develop timeline" at the 9 month point in the project plan. I'll fly in Dr. Who to explain it to the staff.
You realize there are two problems with that approach: 1) He will as usual be followed by a flotilla of Daleks, Cybermen, Yeti and Aliens-strangely-reminiscent-of-Earth-animals-that-just-happen-to-have-two-legs-and-two-arms which will do considerable civic damage before defeated by a rubber band and a sonic screwdriver. 2) He will also be followed by DD, whose well-known capacity will do even worse damage to civc alcohol supplies... :laugh:
