Need a new word mean "it worked first time and that's crazy because I just wrote the code in one hit and just compiled and ran it"

this.

...but shorter, and more catchy. I've just completed about 8hrs of solid coding that involved tearing into the guts of my code, touching about 20 modules, ripping out a component and replacing it with a different (3rd party) component whose documentation is of the "documentation is Evil" variety, plus a bunch of refactoring and configuration changes and the first time I ran the code it...just...worked. Isn't that the best feeling in the world. It's like everything stops, and everything is perfect just in that moment. We need a word for it.

If you're surprised it works, it's sure as hell not mastery. :)

I was at a meeting discussing a project and some bright spark (my manager's manager) asked me what was used for source control and bug tracking. I said "Source control - team foundation server, and my code doesn't have bugs." :-D

I call those "Should've bought a lottery ticket instead..." moments. You sure it's not a "works on my machine" code? ;)
It was broke, so I fixed it.

I don't believe you because there is no such thing as a 3rd party component that "just works". It's not the best feeling in the world. It's the worst because you haven't found the bugs yet and now have no idea where to look to find them! :)

after extensive research (and despite one or two of the responses below that, really, shou'd have had the joke icon) i find that, in fact, this is the first time that this has actual,y happened. pending documentary evidence, i propose calling this a 'Maunder Moment'
