Need a new word mean "it worked first time and that's crazy because I just wrote the code in one hit and just compiled and ran it"

Not if you say it fast enough!! :)
If your neighbours don't listen to The Ramones, turn it up real loud so they can. “We didn't have a positive song until we wrote 'Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue!'” ― Dee Dee Ramone "The Democrats want my guns and the Republicans want my porno mags and I ain't giving up either" - Joey Ramone

...but shorter, and more catchy. I've just completed about 8hrs of solid coding that involved tearing into the guts of my code, touching about 20 modules, ripping out a component and replacing it with a different (3rd party) component whose documentation is of the "documentation is Evil" variety, plus a bunch of refactoring and configuration changes and the first time I ran the code it...just...worked. Isn't that the best feeling in the world. It's like everything stops, and everything is perfect just in that moment. We need a word for it.
I vaguely recall that in the mid 1980s, it was known as "cracking the Golden Code"

Sounds like you Bobbed it - not sure the 'ism' form though. Bobble? Which reminds me, we're still waiting for the Bobble Head Bob. You haven't forgotten have you? No, you wouldn't forget. It will be most coveted, and most cherished.

Oh, no no no no NO! My code is perfect. It runs. It has a zero bug count. I'm not letting it out of the house. EVER. In fact I'm not going to run it again.

I don't believe you because there is no such thing as a 3rd party component that "just works". It's not the best feeling in the world. It's the worst because you haven't found the bugs yet and now have no idea where to look to find them! :)

And that's the thing that's scaring me. Deeply. I've run it once and now I'm going over everything with a fine tooth comb. I'm expecting the equivalent of the moment I look up at exactly the moment a huge fanged gelatinous monster hiding on the ceiling above my head drops onto me and devours me in a pool of green slime.

Three words: "Codeproject Is Down" :-D

I said it worked. I didn't say I'd deployed. I'll leave that for the moment just before they close the doors on the plane and say "please turn off all electronic devices". That way I won't have to hear the screams.

FuMe code - That's from "Elephant Me This Shift Actually Worked"
Yeah, I was thinking WFM is probably the most appropriate.

Now now. Software is like a child, you have to let it run loose, otherwise how will it learn from its mistakes? ;) Marc

I am not having my software throw up on the carpet, draw all over the walls, put my wallet in the toaster and flush the cat down the toilet.

Primitusaetasfactum (Primitus-Aetas-Factum). Primitus is the latin word for First. Aetas is the latin word for Time. Factum is the latin word for Work(ing); also the meaning "accomplishment" or "achievement". In summary, this means "first time working", or "first time achieved".

You refactored the Bluescreen code? :omg:
GOTOs are a bit like wire coat hangers: they tend to breed in the darkness, such that where there once were few, eventually there are many, and the program's architecture collapses beneath them. (Fran Poretto)
