My two big fears, enclosed spaces and falling from unimaginable heights. While this wouldn't affect the first one, dear lord, it really would get me on the second one.[^]

I'm not afraid of falling, I'm afraid of the sudden stop at the end of the fall!

Oddly enough I'm not having a fear of heights as such. Flying in an airplanes, glider, helicopter or hot air balloon. Done it all, no problem. But standing at the edge of a cliff and looking down a steep slope is scary like hell and gives me serious vertigo. One of the scariest things I have ever done in my life was climbing Besseggen[^]. But it was worth it, not just for the beauty, but also for being able to tell people. And no, it's not very dangerous at all. And on the Norwegian scale it's just medium tough, but the Norwegians are outdoor people with a different scale to this kind of stuff.
