Assuming you get an all-day barrage of interviews like I did... Wear clothes that are a bit loose, you'll be in them for hours. I wore slacks, loafers, and a loose (but not hip-hop baggy) button-up shirt. A tie is not necessary. When you get hit with the programming questions, there's usually an obvious straight-forward answer, so give that one first to show that you understand the problem. Then the interviewer will give you hints about a more efficient way to solve the problem, which will take some thinking. Think out loud as you work it out, again to demonstrate that you get the problem and have a grasp of the programming concepts involved. Eat something simple at lunch, like a burger. Don't eat a whole lot, and for goodness sake NO BEANS. ;) Smile and thank the interviewer(s) at the end of every interview. --Mike-- PROCRASTINATION: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now. LOL! :-D Another idea - a shirt with the Slashdot picture of Bill-Gates-as-Borg. Or how about carrying a manilla folder with "Halloween Documents" written on it. --Mike-- PROCRASTINATION: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now. BUY MY SOFTWARE!! You could where a GNU RULEZ shirt, but even better would be a blue screen of death shirt that says this is where I went today in big bold text at the top. :) -:suss:Matt Newman / Windows XP Activist:suss:

From the experience of family and friends; act like Microsoft is God's gift to mankind, just don't be too obvious about it and when asked what one thing you would change for Office, don't say "A big button that says 'Turn all the automatic shit off.'" (Yes, a friend really did say that in his Microsoft interview.)

Even so, I can't help walking away every time and thinking that it made me seem incredibly dumb, almost like a babbling idiot (well more of one anyway :-O). Is that a normal thing to think?
