It means: if your company cannot figure out something as basic as a list of requirements and skills for new employees, then how can it figure out anything else?

And there isn't much more frustrating for a good developer to get a bad interviewer for a good job... :sigh:

I'm not sure what a "reputation Software company" is, but I would try asking them to think about how they would approach a real problem you have, or have had, in that company. Fizz-Buzz tests are so last century! So write out a problem , ask them to read through it and then act as the 'customer' as they explain how they would solve it. Seeing what questions they ask can be revealing - and you can get a good idea of how they analyse a problem. Coding ability? Give them a computer with running code and ask them to make a minor change - say add a second button to a form that clears all the text boxes. Trivial, but will sort the wheat form the chavs

A perfectly round pizza is cut with any number of slices across it. If the only measuring device you have is a super accurate weighing scales how could you determine if the intersection of the cuts is in the centre of the pizza or not. (The actual answer is not all that important - it is how they approach finding the answer you are looking at)

This does not sound too challenging. Is the strategy here that if they can't work this one out they fail? If they can it does not seem to prove much.

No - the strategy is to find out how they go about thinking about finding the solution. How would you solve it?
