Yeah, but can you play it with flames[^] coming out of the guitar? Repost, I know, but you were asking for it, and I think it's pretty cool (no pun intended) all the same...

I can play Thunderstruck pretty well on my guitar and came accross some youtube tutorials of the song. Interesting, I think, might be some trick or detail I can improve on. Are there bad tutorials out there or what, some of them can hardly hold a guitar and their version doesn't even come very close. What "struck" me the most is that almost ALL versions use picking (with one claiming that picking is the "real" way of doing it. Personally I think Angus uses both methods, I've seen him use picking on live shows.) So I was curious, am I the only person on this planet playing Thunderstruck with only hammer-on's and pull-off's (for the intro)? How do you play it? :-D

The studio version has Angus picking the notes (you can hear the pick strikes). Live, in certain shows, he does it via pull offs because it looks a lot showier but if you watch Live at the river plate[^], you see that he's picking.

It can be done both ways, I kind of use a combination of both where I pluck the string then hammer-on / pull-off. I would have loved to have the internet when I played years ago, it's so easy these days to look up a song and get the tabs and video lessons. We had to learn everything by ear or go buy a copy of Guitar Player. I've also worn out a few records along the way.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

Best way to do it. I've reviewed a few of the tabs and videos posted online for students and generally have found them to be lacking.

YOu seen the state of some CP articles? Its the internet, full of wannabees. BTW Thunderstruck is pretty easy to play, the problem is losing interest since it gets very repettetive after a minute. It is plucked though the whole time, no hammers or pulls, if you listen to the atack on every note.
