Upper class Spaniards were so addicted to chocolate that they refused to adhere to a church dictated chocolate ban that forbade them from eating or drinking any food during the church services. The Bishop who passed the law was later found dead due to poison being mixed into his daily cup of chocolate.

2,800,000,000 pounds per year / 22 pounds per individual per year = 127,272,727 individuals. There's way more than 127M Americans. If they can't get such basic and easy to verify math right, why should I believe any of the rest of these stats?
