I got off at Gateshead once, pretty dangerous game to play that.

Wow, I cannot believe that some of the most beautiful classical music pieces were not on that play list. Pathetic, IMO. Marc

            Wow. How heartless and incompassionate.

It still surprises me how many people have no interest whatsoever in classical music - maybe I am a snob, however I do appreciate both J.S.Bach(off to hear the St. Matthew Passion at Kings College Chapel in a few days) and Metallica so I think that's unlikely.

Indeed, Metallica wrote their music as composers.

I went to a chip shop in Gateshead many years ago. Lad I was with asked for a battered sausage. Serving woman (think it was a woman) looked at him and said "bastard sausage?". When telling the locals this story back in the office they suggested his response should have been "Aye, and some fucking chips.". Another time in the same chip shop I asked for sausage and chips to be told it would be a few minutes as there were no sausages battered. I said it was ok as I didn't want batter. This was met with "No batter! I won't charge you for the sausage then.". Strange place Gateshead.

Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.
