It's a gender question, I think. Guys watch (and like) the movie because of the cowboys and indians stuff (because boys will be boys, you know)... Women watch it because of Johnny Depp - in spite of the fact that they don't care the slightest for all the cowboys and indians stuff... ;) You should have watched Chocolat[^] instead, I think! ;P

I didn't attempt to watch The Lone Ranger before because it gave me the impression that it is a boring movie. But, when I watched it yesterday (no choice. I have to endure it on my 4-hour journey back to the city), Ive seen that it's only boring on the first part. The last part was kinda funny. It caught my attention but that didn't change my impression about the movie. :|

60% of the time, I watch movies because it's an action or a fiction movie (including Vampire inspired movies) or a dance/singing related movie; 20%, I watch movie because Johnny Depp is in it; 10%, when Adam Sandler is in it; and 10, it's a horror movie. It has nothing to do with my gender. Maybe it's in my choice of movie?

              Not in this case.

Actually, the only reason I would watch it is because of Johnny Depp. Perhaps I'm in touch with my feminine side. Marc

Awful movie. I can't stand Johnny Depp. IMO all of the 'Pirates of Caribbean' movies sucked and they are overrated. Armie Hammer was a bad casting choice along with Depp. And the worst part was the whole movie claimed that it's Texas while the locations were from Arizona and Utah. The whole 'I will not use guns' arguments was unexplained and lame, Character of Tonto was written really lazy. The dumb actions sequences were fun. But overall the movie was waste of time.

that was also my opinion. I really hate movies which you are expecting to be an action movie but they will start it with storytelling.. That is disgusting. The latter part is good, but I know, I will not watch it again. I'm a fan of Johnny Depp, I watched The Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland and Rango. I can't recall all the titles, but I've watched his movie wherein he is a vampire, and he is a hair cutter.
