That a little bit different was used with sarcasm. I know in forums its hard to find sarcasm :(( I have been punished with my incompetence with c#. Now i have to work on a c# project involving ado.net. I guess I cannot be left alone with the little i know about c# :(( :(( :((

One thing I have ( that is somehow related to the "different culture/different strokes" thread below) been wondering : where does the "PLLLZZZ Urgenttttt" actually come from ? Is this something cultural, like an idioms of some sort in another language ? Or a bad translation ?

The bad spelling comes from it being the 'Internet generation' who see forums and blogs all over the place where spelling and grammar are optional. 'Plz' is a pretty common spelling. I suspect the 'it's urgent' is cultural (Indian vs western) – saying something's urgent when asking for help here makes you look needy and rude, presumably it doesn't over there.

Just to add: have you noticed that these tend to come from people with "dramatic" usernames? "ubercoder" "CyberOne" and so forth. Or is that just my imagination and selective memory?

Isn't this just meme culture bleeding into programming culture? I occasionally add similar redundant / moronic slang to mails when I consider a problem both low priority and out of band with my regular work. Only when addressing friends / peers mind you, never in official work correspondence. (Except once, when someone sent me an email entitled "BUSINESS". In reply, it might have ended up as "SERIOUS BUSINESS".)

It is the typing equivalent of the 3yr old WHINING their pleas: PLEAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ DAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD... These kids are just more grown up... Maybe like 6-9 :-)

Yes, moronity seems to be new culture setting in which doesn't know country/culture boundary !! :sigh: It is getting spread by some half-literate software professional code monkeys who thinks that by typing in all upper case and repeating the last character will show how the question is most important in the world. And the importance which is just perceived in their mind, if available i.e. mind :rolleyes: PS: Moronity when searched on Google, gives meaning out but spell-check is giving error ! Must be written by some morons :laugh:

Spellchecker is quite correct. If there was a need for a word for 'the quality of being a a moron' which, as the majority of dictionaries agree, there really isn't, it would have to be drawn from the adjective and would therefore be 'moronicity' or 'moronicness'. As a general rule, when comparing a Google search with a commercial spell checker (or any other 'knowledge' source), it is safer to assume that it is results from the former which are more likely to involve writers of diminished mental capacity.
