If you don't know who Darth Vader is, then I don't think anyone can explain to you anything about Star Wars. :|

"May the Force* be with you" is a Signature Line from Star Wars, in which it is said by many characters when parting (much like we might say "farewell" or "goodbye"). Fans have decided that the fourth of May should be international Star Wars day, mainly so that they have an excuse to use the punny line "May the 4th be with you." * Force: 'An omnipresent energy that can be harnessed by those with that ability, known as Force-sensitives. It is described in the first produced film as "an energy field created by all living things [that] surrounds us, penetrates us, [and] binds the galaxy together."'

What is this talk of release? I do not release software. My software escapes leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.

It is way older than Star Wars - we were coding in Forth in the early 80s. I even remember a much older, classical text which doesn't only prescribe the programming language, but even the operations to be performed: It told us "Go Forth, and Multiply!"
