It is OK, definitely. All we love to work on vintage projects.

Depends really, on what the project is. If you are trying to write "Hello World!" in FORTRAN and it's taken you fifteen years and no end in sight, then I'd have to suggest that a surrender to the arms of reality might be a good idea. But if it's the whole of Quake III Arena written from scratch in ARM assembler for Android Tablets, then I'd have to say "Keep going!" and "Work harder!"

Pet projects are for learning, so as long as you learn from it - go on!

Hobby - means things you love to do. So if you are not bored, no one else should dictate you on the time limit, otherwise it's not hobby. [Joke] You are not talking about your job here, right? And the people who are giving you suggestions are not your boss(es), right? RIGHT?! [/Joke]

Sure, as long as (i) you're having fun, (ii) you don't expect it to be any kind of external or commercial success and (iii) the tech stack isn't totally obsolete so anything you're learning is worth nothing.

Nope. It won't be 15 years until December or thereabouts.

Of course it's OK. One assumes that the current goals have somewhat changed since inception, though- or are you writing a program for an Amiga or something ;) I am currently working on PooperPig [^]- a game I first started work on in the mid to late 1980's (see http://www.viewdata.org.uk/download.php?cat=15\_Prestel&file=logon07.pdf p 19) The current version is mobile - IOS, Android and possibly WP8, and also potentially Mac and PC The original was on a BBC micro[^] By the time I finish it will probably be played on a 3d holodeck !!
