With the chance of being a typical Leslie, I did what I could do to stop myself of pasting this. Obviously I failed. Clickety

You also seem to have done what you can to mix the words in that sentence up as much as possible

I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

Yeah, my sentence could use a comma or two. :sigh: This happens when you have some structure knowledge of German language deep inside your brain. I noticed that sometimes even when I speak my birth language I use the German language construction which is inappropriate at these moments. I wonder what else I could find in there :sigh: Edit: I don't mind if someone points my sentence flaws :) After all that's one of the ways of learning

        From Q&A:

i dont know it's a good question that i ask or not but i learn basic c++ programming in console but i want to prgramming and earn money and enjoy with this but i can only write program in console and this BLACK place (shet) in this time i'm realy confused and i dont how i should do i dont know i should learn api functions or learn vc win32 prgramming or learn MFC please guide me to learn with a list step by step that i should do in this way if i should read any book please tell me??

Made me chuckle. "The console is a black place". Maybe installing a spell checker would be a great idea? On the spell checker topic: I know Chris wants us to be mild with non-native english speakers, but at a certain level (when the drivel becomes almost unreadable) I sometimes think that some should invest time in learning english before actually getting started with programming. Not that I demand everyone to speak a perfect english, but their conversation partner shouldn't need to decrypt the sentences... [Edit]This wasn't clear, but the last chapter is not related to the question rather than it is a thought that came to my mind as I wrote "spell checker"[/Edit]

The text you quoted isn't perfect; but it's clearly understandable on the first read through. Lay off already.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. Not for me - Might be because I'm not a native speaker. I wasn't mocking the post for it's grammar but for the sentence "but i can only write program in console and this BLACK place (shet)" and my understanding (The console is a black place) of it. I'm sorry that I didn't state this clear in my post, but the last chapter there was a crossing thought that came to my mind as I was writing "spell checker" and is more a general thought than directed at the question.

He probably meant that programming takes him to the black places in his head. I know that's what programming can do to people :sigh:

I avoid nearly everything after 1990. I have a lot of 80s; ah the good old days hacking away in my parents' basement...
