The one that touches the monitor screens? or the one that doesn't? You might think it's not a big deal. But I really get pissed off if someone touches the monitor's surface just to point something out there. A guy here presses deep into the LCD and says "THIS!" is the problem. I feel like saying "If you don't take the finger off my screen, your finger would be in problem." But seriously, I've at least really requested some of them here not to do it. -humbly. I've ignored these many times. But when I do, after switching off the monitor if see a mess of dirty fingerprints, I get totally annoyed. :| Some dudes go farther & use the back side of pen/marker to point out a line of code that might be causing a problem. The funnier side of it - the little cousin I have around here, tries to do the same. When he does, I stop him & teach him some gadget-manners - i.e why we shouldn't touch computers/Notebooks screens so hard ,etc. He listens & waits only to ask me back the same question when I'm using my tablet. The grumpy kid certainly feels I'm a Hypocrite. :)

Haha: I agree: I hate it if someone touches the screen, either with finger or pen and will always stop them. It's just bloody rude.

I only use the back end of a pen. It doesn't leave a mark, and I don't have to get as close to the person operating the screen. Trying to preserve personal space! Hogan

My peeve is when people refuse to actually say something about XYZ they're trying to convey, but rather most hover over you to tell you where to click, while you act as the brainless extension of their mind, simply because they can't communicate and they lock up and don't know what to say unless they make you point and click for them. Communication is a lost art in the information age.

Ya gotta yell at them. Stop, turn around and ask what they're trying to get you to do. We had this one guy who would just "click here. Here here no just click here. here. Now go there..click on that, right here...here. no here" He sounded like he'd drank 2 gallons of red bull. Finally had to bark at him to get him to stop. Nicely. But it was what it was.

Get touch screens, I worked with one recently and realised I am a toucher when instructing, it is really fucking irritating to have the screen react when you are just trying to point out something. Get some screen cleaner, I need to do it weekly, I do quite a bit of instructing :-O

I only touch the screen of tablets (which are touchscreen) and laptops (which should be). On desktop machines, there's no point in doing so.

I'm no prude: I feel free to touch my kit however I want. I do, however, try not to touch other people's kit if I know they're a bit repressed about it. Actually, I'm known to draw on my screen with whiteboard pens when it helps. And I've been known to fix a problem with errant punctuation in my code by gently wiping my monitor with a damp finger. If that offends, you probably wouldn't like the 25 years of accumulated breakfasts in my keyboard either.

I used to be a Class, but after some time in the CP Q&A , i saw no value in the Structure of classes. Some say i am an Enumeration but others dispute that and say i am an Interface but honestly speaking i think i am just a Delegate because i don't see any common type system.

I touch myself, but I don't touch others'. Um, let me clarify. I touch my own monitor, but I'm conscientious not to touch other people's monitors. Hmmm, that still doesn't sound right.... Marc

He listens & waits only to ask me back the same question when I'm using my tablet. so much this. DO NOT EVER TOUCH MY SCREENS. I can touch my smart phone and tablet. But I will very openly clean them if someone else uses them for a bit. Bit like drinking out of someone else's beer. Just don't do it. How do people not get this?

To err is human to really mess up you need a computer

I've never had a problem with it. However I've encountered co-workers that certainly have - the interactions between us are ... funny. :) Especially when they call me over to "have a look" at something ;)
