Thats nothing, as we have some fines that is related to the yearly income, so it could get really high, IIRC.

They're not trying to slow anyone down, or deter anyone from any of the other crimes they're raising the fines for, they're just trying to increase revenue.

No, we are talking about speeding tickets, no? They can be given relative to the income IIRC, so not just taxes then ;) Although I think you'll have to drive really fast or kill someone: Norwegian law §27[^] Roughly translated: When the fine imposed, it should, in addition to the offense, taken into account of the condemned property and what he by his living conditions can be expected to pay. The fine accrues to the Treasury.

100,000 just give up, and die as a result.

Holy crap! Fines that large should be against the law.

Speeding fines are being increasingly linked to income across Europe. There was a story a year or two ago about some fella in Switzerland I think who was caught going very fast in a very expensive car and was looking at a record breaking fine.

Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

Was it Jeremy Clarkson? It sounds reasonable, if you had lots of money you could in essence just pay to drive faster.
