Losing Rep Points For Cancelling Opt-In For Newsletter
-
I recently lost 50 reputation points for removing the opt in for the Newsletter. I was opted in for several months, and it really didn't have anything in it that interested me. I don't think it is fair to lose the whole 50 points. They must have also looked at my profile and determined that it wasn't professional enough so they took away another 250 points for that. I'm a bit disillusioned with the site right now..

You got 50 points when you signed up to the newsletter. You lost them when you opted out. If you opt back in, you get the points again.

Posting this useless rant in the Soapbox is moreover an invitation to be whipped further. Why do you bother? Reputation points are a way to measure your participation to this community. They are not a goal in itself.

Make sure you have filled out every field here[^]. Sometimes a field gets lost when you update your settings.
