Luis Suarez finally suspended on an international scale. Nine matches with stadium ban isn't too much, I guess! Just try learning your lesson (Once bitten, twice shy, third ...?)

I don't think the ban is as lenient as you think. He is banned for four months from any football related activity. he has lost several major sponsors and there is a mumbling already that the ban should means he cannot receive any money from the game; i.e. no play, no pay.

Absolute disgrace, he committed an assault and should be tried under the laws of the country, AFAICT footballers don't have diplomatic immunity, and the ground is part nation it is in. As for the FIFA fine, it's laughable: £66,000 is about a third of his weekly wage from Liverpool (at least on the news site I found - a dare say his actual earnings are much higher).

I do not disagree with you, but if the ban is total then he will lose a lot more than 66k. Personally, I'd say "Burn 'im! Burn 'im, 'es a witch!"

I still don't get it. Why is biting someone so bad, and deserving of so much attention? It's not like he bit a piece out of that guy, or infected him with a zombie virus, or anything like that. He just left some teeth marks (not even particularly obvious ones) that will probably disappear soon. This is nothing. Anyone who thinks this is a big deal hasn't participated in real life yet.

Because: 0) This is the third time he's done it. 1) It's a sign of some serious behaviour problems. 2) It's assault. 3) It doesn't set a good example to watching fans. Put it this way: the football pitch is his place of work. Would you want to work with a colleague who bit your shoulder because he was pissed off?

He is world class player and have lots of followers so what was the message their "GO bite your opponents" 3. We are human and not animals so his behavior was like a wild. 4. He has done this for 2nd time so its mean he is used to it. 5. Football is all about respect but he show football is all about hurt each other.
