Today it is exactly 100 years ago that the shots in Sarajevo on Franz Ferdinand, the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, happened. In a series of events, made possible mostly by a series of incompetent political decisions, it is recognised as the starting point that launched the first world war. As horrible as it was, it was in essence a trench war; meaning that there was some time for shenanigans behind the lines[^]. Although I think people still are being killed from unexploded shells... Other earth shattering events that has formed the history on the date 28 june: 28. june 1389 The Serbian king Lazar was beaten outside Kosovo by the Ottomans. 28. june 1709 The Swedish king Karl XII is defeated in Poltava (Ukraine) by Peter the Great's army 28. june 1919 the Germans are forced to sign the Versailles treaty, that eventually launches the second world war. So, lets hope none of you (or anybody else for that matter) does something equally stupid today... :sigh:

Sep 25, 1958: World War I formally ended between Andorra and Germany. (though I had heard that they formally met with German officials to end WWI and immediately signed up for WWII. Since their entire military budget for 1962 was $4.90 I would imagine the enemy weren't exactly frightened... Costa Rica on the other hand is still technically at war with Germany since they did not attend the Treaty of Versailles (and that meant they didn't declare war on Germany for WWII either, because it seemed unnecessary so weren't included in the peace for that one either!)

Andorra, they didn't have a border with the occupying German forces did they. It was the Vichy government that had that border.

Andorians[^] are very good at fighting cold wars.

You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.
