Hi all. I've used Acronis and Norton Ghost in the past. Unfortunately Win7 has made my current software obsolete. What I'm looking for a cost effective piece of software that can image hard drives remotely while the computer is running. I will be imaging Win7, XP, and Win Server 2003 machines. It does not need to do automatic incremental updates, but if the price is right, I'd consider it :) Thanks in advance.

Sorry, should have reread your post. You wanted remote. I don't think xxclone does remote. Sorry for the oops. I really like xxclone[^]. There is a free and a paid version, I haven't used anything but the free one. It has worked wonderfully for me.

Remove the drive from the computer, prop it up against something, and snap a picture of it with a digital camera. Result - an image of a hard drive.

You can stand a newspaper next to it, to confirm the snapshot date -- and that it's still healthy on that date.

Still looks like it has a couple of features that might be useful.

I'll have to rig something up inside the case.
