There was evidence that windows 8 would be free to windows 7 users but it was not. I am not denying the existence of the next OS, I am denying the existence of Windows 9. There was no Windows 6, it was called vista and the Next Version may very well simply be OneCore, but it is also likely to be Windows 8.2, but not windows 9. I learned to program in C before I mastered English.

There was no Windows 6. There is more evidence that the next version will be called Windows OneCore or Windows 8.2 then there is it being called Windows 9.

ok, so its literally just the name you're taking issue with? When I said 'Windows 9' I thought it obvious that just meant 'the next major release of Windows'. No idea what they'll actually call it :)

Windows 8 is running on Xbox. Recently Windows RT was put on the Windows Phone - in march. There is an article about Windows putting OneCore on all devices, well it was already done long ago. There is no such thing is windows 9.

So Microsoft is lying as well? Let me guess; when let out of the basement and not taking your medication, you walk around with tin foil hat. You are a loon. (In response to other assertions; Windows Vista & Server 2008 had the internal version number of 6.0. What is called Windows 8.1 has the internal version number of 6.3. It doesn't really matter. Microsoft could call the next major version, Windows Elephant and yet people will still refer to it as Windows 9. In the meantime, go back on your medication.)

Show me where Microsoft has declared windows 9, you wont because they haven't.

Windows 8.1 was the next major release of Windows after Windows 8. And thank you for confirming my point.

That's not entirely true. First, those parties who "signed a contract" didn't, and even if they did they would have to show that their business was harmed by the release of the next generation of Windows. Considering MS goes through great lengths to maintain backward compatibility, that's very unlikely.

No, it's not. All he did was ask you a question. He didn't call you names or put you down in any way. Except maybe it was a "question" pointing to the fact that your exuberance for everything Windows is "over the top".

Now you're just splitting hairs as to what it's name is going to be. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT! But, everyone considers it to be Windows version 9, just possibly with a name other than "9". This is the distinction that's making you look like a fool.

Windows 8 is actually Windows 6.2. The way people are putting up a stink by talking reality is proving that most programmers that follow the code program are full of shit, high on themselves, and trolls for insulting a person for pointing out that not even Microsoft is talking Windows 9.

Not the point. The point was Microsoft DID get Windows 7 out as fast as possible to get rid of Vista because everyone (except you probably) hated it, leaving all those copies of Vista on the shelf to be wasted. It's happened before and it will happen again. Oh, that's right, it already did and it's called Windows 8. Everyone HATED it and the rush was on to get 8.1 out the door.

I'm not entirely sure what your point was tbh. I'm sure there will be another major release of Windows on the horizon. What it'll be called, I'm not sure. I think Windows 9 is sort of the generic term for it right now :)

"windows 9" is generally understood by everyone except, perhaps, you, to refer to the next major release of Windows. It's internal version will presumably be 6.3 It may be called Windows 9 or it may be called Fred - whatever, i'ts easier to say "Windows 9" than "The next major release of Windows regardless as to what it's called"

You're the only one who gives a crap what the marketing name is. No matter what MS Marketing calls the next major version of Windows, we all refer to it as "Windows 9", just as if it was a project name.

So what? In either case in order to sue them you have to be able to demonstrate irreperable harm to your company by the release of the next version of Windows. Frankly, if that is the case, you actually screwed yourself because you didn't take this well-known possibility into account in your own business model.

Oh I didn't say any version of Windows was a failure. YOU DID. All I said was Microsoft has in the past abandonded a ton of copies of Windows on store shelves to release the next version, regardless of the reason they did it. Thank you for demonstrating my point.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA! You must be new here. You haven't even experienced what I call "full frontal outlaw programmer" yet.
