Never... I've got mine 4 extracted years ago... I think wisdom went with them... Oh, and don't forget about the 1 hour pull tour the dentist took on my lower right tooth... he ended cutting it inside my mouth after that 1 hour of pulling... it was niiiiiiiice! X|

I've had mine for years & they've never been a problem, except when they firs came in. So I'd say never, unless they become an actual problem.

Why extract? I've all of them and I'm 43...

Only if/when they are a problem. I have all mine.

In my opinion Wisdom teeth should only be removed if it(they) is(are) causing problem(s) in the mouth, or likely to cause problems. I'm 41 and not had mine removed. Don't fix what isn't broken works for me! I hate the dentist. (Not him personally, after all he was at school with me!)

Because they can be tricky to brush they can go bad, two of my four did and had to be removed. One after it broke when eating Brazil's at Christmas time. :(

                          Age of enlightenment?

Have you ever just looked at someone and knew the wheel was turning but the hamster was dead? Trying to understand the behavior of some people is like trying to smell the color 9.

Becuase; a) Put yourself through the torment of removing them (if you hate the dentist etc.) b) discomfort for a period after having them removed c) potential to introduce infection to the open gums

They said I was wise beyond my years, so I had them extracted at 19. Lo and behold, I had 6 wisdom teeth! If you asked what time they should be extracted, I would say: Tooth Hurty

My kids and I all had our wisdom teeth out at 17 or 18 due to being severely impacted (on their side pushing forward.) My ex-wife also had that problem but didn't get hers out until she was 21 when they were causing serious pain and then one got infected.
